Hi all,

HAMPER DAY - SUNDAY 12th DECEMBER

The entry sheet for Hamper Day is now open in the pro shop. As previously indicated the field this year will be restricted to 100 golfers from the Full Playing categories. Once we reach this number the shop staff will keep a reserve list in case we have any late withdrawls. Due to the Government imposed restrictions of only being able to cater for fully vaccinated people in the Hospitality areas the golf committee has decided that only fully vaccinated members will be eligible to play in this event.

The cost and format will be the same as last year - $35pp and includes a bacon roll on arrival, lunch and prizes from 1st to 13th ( pairs only ) - this year we cannot have a buffet lunch as is the norm, so  the club will be serving Poke bowls with a fish or chicken option. More details about the day closer to the time but get in quick with your entry as we cannot increase the size of the field.

PLAYING CONDITIONS
From Friday 26th November we will revert to our Summer playing conditions of "clean and place on own mown fairway". I am sure you will all be very happy to know that the bunker rakes are being returned to the course so please leave the bunker in good condition after you have played out from it.

MEN'S COMPETITIONS
This weekend is finals weekend for the Club Championships Match Play events with the semi finals to be held on Saturday and the finals on Sunday - The Seniors final is over 36 holes and all others are 18 hole events

The other event in progress is the Pat O'Connor Cup which has also reached the semi-final stage. The final for this event will be held on Saturday 11th December. Also on that day we will hold the Achilles Cup which is for one round of stableford competition.
The Saturday scramble returns this Saturday - just to refresh the cost is $7 which is for the top scores in two divisions, two's and the jackpot which is 2 x 2's on three nominated holes. Harrison will advise which holes are in play for the jackpot on a Saturday morning. The jackpot starts again at $640.

Good luck to all competitors in the club events

Clubhouse Re-Opening

We are delighted that at long last we are able to re-open our Bar, Kitchen and Decking area to our members from next Friday 3rd December.

There will be a capacity limit of 100 people and drinks service will be at the tables.

The directive of the NZ Ministry of Health is that our hospitality venue is required to ensure that all guests aged 16+ over are double vaccinated. By deciding to visit our upstairs clubhouse area, this indiates that you acknowledge this directive, are fully vaccinated and able to provide proof of vaccination via the 'My Vaccine Pass'.

People unable to provide this proof of vaccination, will not be allowed to enter the clubrooms and should not try to do so. Whether you agree with the mandate or not, these are the guidelines by which we are required to operate, as are all other hospitality businesses that wish to re-open their doors.

We will be asking all members and visitors to scan in upon arrival upstairs using the My Vaccine Pass QR Code. For your convenience, a terminal has been placed at the entrance to the bar area, and in the initial stages of our operation, staff will be on hand to show you how to scan in on arrival. Please note this does not replace people scanning the location QR code when arriving at the club to play golf (people should continue to do this).

Our staff will also be carrying out spot checks at the tables to ensure there is compliance. Fines for the club failing to adhere to these rules are considerable, therefore we ask for your patience and support in making this system work.

We understand that medically exempt people are still able to access the vaccine pass, and therefore should scan on entry in the same way that vaccinated people would.

At this stage we have decided to keep the cafe area downstairs as take away only, and will continue to operate in the same way we have for the past few months.

Further guidelines on how to scan in will be released next week.

Bar / Kitchen Operations

We ask that members top up member accounts at the cafe prior to heading upstairs, this will help to speed up service in the clubhouse. We will be accepting payments via member accounts and eftops only at this stage, no cash.

Drinks will be ordered at the table and delivered to you by your server. We ask that those wanting food, take note of your table number and order with the kitchen, this will be then delivered to you at the table.

Mask wearing is encouraged when not eating or drinking.

At this stage we will not be taking table bookings and will operate on a first come first served basis, we will have a full bar menu and daily specials available.
