Auckland Council - Draft Golf Investment Plan

Some of you will be aware of recent media reports and chat on local facebook groups, that Auckland Council has released a Draft Golf Investment Plan that is open for consultation. Please be aware that some of the comments and reports are misleading and do not be alarmed.

Whilst we will be encouraging you to submit feedback on this plan before 20th April 2022, we would like our members to hold fire on submitting this feedback at this stage. It is important that there is a coordinated response that highlights the benefits of golf and our spaces to the communities that we live in, there will be certain key points that should be stressed in all submissions, and we'll be able to highlight areas we are already making progress. In conjunction with NZ Golf, Auckland Golf and North Golf we are working on creating some templates that members can refer to when submitting feedback. These will be made available to all clubs concerned and the wider golfing community.

Taking the positives from this process, we are hopeful that this focus by council on their golf courses, leads to increased investment and support in the development of our facilities.

Membership Renewals

Thank you to those members who have paid their membership fees over the past few days.  The remaining outstanding invoices have been resent yesterday.  Please contact the office if you want to either cancel your membership or pay via direct debit (which will incur a 3% surcharge).

Those memberships still outstanding on 1st April will be resigned and their space allocated to one of the people on our very long waiting list.

Regulation Changes

With the government announcement this week advising of the regulation changes we are planning to make some tweaks to our operations from Monday 4th April.

At this point vaccine passes are no longer going to be required, which will mean the need to scan in upstairs will be removed, and the cafe will revert to indoor seating as well as our current outdoor spaces.

Coring - 5th to 7th April

Just a quick reminder that the course will be closed from Tuesday 5th to Thursday 7th April for coring. This ongoing process is essential to help us maintain the greens in such good condition throughout the year.

We will also be commencing on the renovation of the 4th Green from Monday 11th April. This will bring the temporary hole into play on the back 9.
