Save the Date – 9-Hole Ladies Open Day
We have managed to get a date in the diary to work with the wider regional calendar and our club….drum roll please! On Monday 4 May 2026, we will host an Open Day for other 9-hole ladies from across the Northern District to come and play at our course.
It is a great chance to showcase our club, connect with new friends, and enjoy some healthy competition. Please invite your golfing friends and get them to mark the date in their diaries now. More details to follow on tee times, how to enter and lunch closer to the time.
Other Golf Opportunities In The Club
Twilight golf starts Tuesday, 30 September. This is not just for the 18-holers, it’s a great chance for us 9-holers to get another game in during the week and enjoy the fun evening atmosphere.
Unfortunately we’re already full for this season; but you can always email through your name for the reserves list. Contact admin@waitematagolf.co.nz if you’re keen for that. Otherwise, hold tight for the next Twilight season, which begins early 2026.
Mixed Pairs will be held on Sunday September 28th. You can bring a visitor too, either entering as a pair or the club will pair you up (bags the hot guy!). Cost per person is Nine Hole members $25 and $60 for non-members. The start sheet on the day will be a two tee set-up commencing at 11.30am. So you can still have a Sunday lie-in or get to church. Prizegiving will follow the golf - the prize fund will be the total of the entry fees received. Participants must be present to receive a prize. Please register by email to either Pauline at bridgy@xtra.co.nz or Gary at g.mcalister@xtra.co.nz.
One of our fellow members, Jane Macaulay, is a trustee of The Black & White Golfers Trust, which supports young people in need to achieve their academic, sporting and cultural goals. Recipients are required to apply for funding and must demonstrate they have the talent, commitment. They have assisted 593 young people since their inception.
The Trust raises money during the year by holding golf days at various golf clubs in the Auckland region, together with raffles, green fees and donations. On Monday, 24th November, Remuera Golf Club has their end-of-year main fundraiser. Tee off is at 5 pm for nine holes, followed by a three-course dinner, silent auctions and raffles. Past recipients for 2025 share their experiences with us during the evening, which makes the evening quite moving, demonstrating that our funding is very well used.
Should anyone wish to join Jane, please get in touch with her for further information. Jane Macaulay, 021 586 972 timandjanemacaulay@gmail.com
