Welcome to the New Year!

We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and holiday break, spending quality time with family and friends. The year may have started with some pretty wild weather, and while the recent storms have kept us off course, we hope everyone, along with your loved ones, is safe and dry. Golf will wait. People always come first.

On the bright side, once things dry out, the course is going to be looking lush. The trees will be growing even bigger, which means they’ll be working extra hard to “help” with our handicaps this season.

Now for the exciting news.

9-Hole Ladies Opening Day – Tuesday 17 February

Entries are now open, and everyone is invited.

This marks the official start of the 2026 season and is a fantastic way to reconnect, welcome new players to our events, and enjoy a fun day on the course together.

Play format will be Ambrose in Teams of 4 (let’s get excited about potentially playing with someone new!).

7:30am Arrival | 8am Welcome | 8:30am Shotgun Start

Prizegiving in Clubroom after play, including presentation of the Lyn McLachlan Plate.
The first drink is paid for by the club, so buy your lunch at the cafe and come upstairs after your game.
Don’t forget $5 for 3 raffle tickets, please bring cash.
Online Registrations are open now.

Make sure you get your name down and come along for a great day of golf, laughs, and good company.

Pennants
Pennants is starting very soon, and we have a strong team heading into the season. If you are on the fence about joining the team, then jump off and call Jules on 021 129 5909 to get involved. Sitting on the fence only leads to splinters in ya bum!

Set Your 2026 Golf Goals
New year, new golf goals. Keep them fun, realistic, and motivating.

A few ideas to get you thinking:

    • Play at least one Open Day at another club

    • Finally conquer that one hole that lives rent-free in your head

    • Break into a new handicap bracket (or just lose fewer balls to the trees)

    • Commit to regular 9-hole play and enjoy the social side just as much as the scorecard

Call for a new Treasurer
Before we wrap up, I’d like to acknowledge Jacquee Pedrick, who is stepping down from the Treasurer role after many years of excellent and much-appreciated service. Jacquee’s time, care, and commitment to the 9-Hole group have been invaluable, and we thank her sincerely for everything she has contributed.
With Jacquee stepping down, we are now seeking someone to fill the Treasurer role. If you’re savvy with numbers, can attend our 4 events each year, and feel it might be time to get more involved in the club's governance, we’d love to hear from you. Please email Penny with your expression of interest

We can’t wait to see you all on Opening Day and start the season together.

Here’s to a fantastic year of 9-Hole golf.

See you on the fairways,

Penny & Sherida
