Speed of Play & Etiquette

Can I ask all players to be conscious of their pace of play.

There have been a number of incidents recently that are uncalled for and unnecessary. It is not for players on the course to “police” other players and it is not helpful when players are making comments to other groups which simply creates dramas on the course. Please keep any comments or gestures to yourself.

If you perceive you are being held up then talk to the Proshop, DO NOT confront other groups and give your opinion on the matter, this is unhelpful.

There are several factors that play into speed around the course.

1.      The type of event – Net will always be slower than Stableford

2.      Not all groups are 4 Balls so the group in front of you may be trailing a 3 Ball or 2 Ball, so it looks like they are slower than they actually are.

3.      Some groups have to wait for Greens to clear given the distance that some players hit and the safety of other members.

We are looking into ways to better monitor speed of play around the course but 4 hours is not unreasonable during events.

I appreciate your understanding in this matter.
