BUNKER REDEVELOPMENT
Greetings everyone,
Approximately 50 members attended the Bunker Redevelopment information evening held in March. Attached is a summary of that meeting.
One of the issues raised was around timing and if this project could be fast-tracked over a shorter period of time rather than the five years originally proposed. The Board will look at the alternatives here and present a shorter timeframe option, if one is possible, for members to consider at the AGM.
The project estimate of $500k is extremely conservative and should be regarded as an absolute worst case scenario.
If this plan is accepted by members at the AGM the Board's proposal is to establish a committee to review the Turf and Drainage report and recommend changes (additions, deletions and alterations ) if appropriate before work commences. The committee will comprise our Greens Superintendent - Dennis Coleman, Club Professional - Brad Shilton, Club Chairman and two club members.
Lastly, one question I have been asked that was not covered in the meeting notes is: what does Dennis ( Course Superintendent ) think of this proposal? Dennis is very much in favour of this project and feels that the new bunker design will not only modernise the course but improve its playability and enjoyment for all members and visitors.
Kind regards
Gary McAlister
Chairman
