Hi all,

SATURDAY 23rd April

Tomorrow is the first round of the Birthday Cup and is to be played as Foursomes with scoring in the stableford format. The brief rules for this are:

Foursomes is played with a partner but playing only one ball and taking alternate shots. Each person tees off on alternate holes irrespective of who holes out on the previous hole.  Both course handicaps are added together and then divided by two to find the pair's playing handicap. Half shots are rounded up. If you choose to play in this please ask Harrison for a blank card, calculate your own handicap ( Harrison will help you if needed ) and return the completed card to the pro shop at the end of your round. The Club haggle tomorrow will be for this event and will be for best stableford and two's.

Round 2 of the Birthday Cup is next Saturday and is both Combined Stableford and 4BBB - the computer will calculate the scores! As previously advised, next week there is no need to play with your partner if it is not possible. ie. one person could play in the morning whilst their partner plays in the afternoon field. Their scores will be matched up and count towards the trophy.

This is the one day of the year we will be playing this format - please consider giving it a try. You never know - you might actually enjoy it!

REMINDERS

Entries are now open for the Club Championship Strokeplay event. Tee times will be limited on both Saturday and Sunday 21st/22nd May for those not competing in our flagship event.

Monday 25th April is ANZAC Day and this year we will be holding our time honoured trophy of men v women. All scores will count and the average score will determine the winner. In respect for our fallen soldiers there will be no morning golf and we will be having a shotgun start at 1pm.

Staffing Changes

Friday (Today) is Jenny Macfarlane's last day at the club, she has been with us for just over a year and has become an integral part of the team. We wish Jenny all the best on her exciting new adventure over in London. Thank you Jenny for everything that you have done for the club.

We are delighted to welcome Marlies Caradus into the Office Manager's role here at the club. Marlies has been able to spend the last two weeks handing over with Jenny so that she understands the role before Jenny leaves. It's great to have Marlies on board.

Covid

We kindly remind everyone that if you are feeling sick you should not be coming to the club. We have a number of staff currently isolating, and continuing to operate the clubhouse as normal is becoming increasingly difficult.

Your support in helping to protect our staff and fellow members is much appreciated.
