Hi all,

Last Sunday was finals day for the Club Champs Strokeplay events. The defending champion, Dan Burney, shot 66 in the final round to win the Seniors from Ross Allott. Peter Hodge, with two rounds of 80 won the Intermediates by 1 stroke from David Bason and Brad Judd. The Juniors went the way of Michael Harrison from Michael Jung and Milan Cooper who were tied for second. C Grade was won by Chris Attrill from Robin Kelly, who putted sensationally well to shoot the low round of the day in that grade. The D Grade was won by Nick Davey from Jason Ferrone.

Congratulations to all of the winners. A full list of results is available on the website in the Member News  section.

A few details about the Club Day tomorrow:

The draw has now been loaded onto the Dotgolf system. The morning field starts at 8am and the afternoon field starts at 12.45pm. Please keep an eye on your time - if you are in the morning field your group must be finished by 12.30pm.

Just a reminder about the group's handicap calculation. Please list your group on your score card in playing handicap order - for mixed groups this may not necessarily be the same as the handicap index order! Once you have determined the individual playing handicaps ( reminder to the women to add 2 to their playing handicap ) then you need to calculate your ambrose handicap by using the percentage formula. That is 25%/20%/15%/10% of the playing handicaps starting with the lowest handicapper ( 25% )and finishing with the highest handicap ( 10% ). Your team ambrose handicap is then the sum of the four numbers rounded to two decimal places. Please be careful and make sure you calculate correctly as only the winning cards will be checked for accuracy. Unfortunately there is no formula for groups of three so if you find yourself in this situation please add the playing handicaps together and then divide by 6 to calculate your ambrose handicap.

The only other rules for the day stipulate that each player must contribute 4 drives ( 5 drives each for groups of 3 ) and 15cm placing from the marked ball. Men play from the Achilles tees and Women from the Royalist/Leander composite course.

In addition to the substantial prize table that is on offer the club will also be providing a woodfired pizza for each group to share upon the completion of your round. Petr will also be offering meals on Saturday night for those that wish to stay a little longer and support the Club. For those that scored well in the morning and would like to return for the prizegiving it is expected that we will commence this at about 5.30pm. There are prizes for the top 10 groups so good luck to all.

As everyone is aware costs of items across all areas have been increasing for some time.

We have tried as much as practical to not pass on these increses to our members, however in some areas we now need to look at these items and adjust our prices accordingly.

We still aim to provide great value for both our members and visitors, and all members recieve 10% loyalty back onto when using their member accounts for payment.

As an ongoing precaution with the spread of covid still in the community, we are trying to minimise the potential spread of infection to our staff, therefore will only be accepting cash for member account top ups, no change will be given and we are not currently holding cash reserves in the tills.
