Course Update

It has been great that we have been able to get more people out on the course over the past 10 days, and to even get our golf carts back out there. 

Denis and the team have roped off some of the wetter areas on the course to prevent carts and trundlers accessing these areas. If players help in this regard, it will help to protect the course and to maintain the trundler / cart access that so many of us need.

Finally, please help us to maintain the course by repairing pitch marks & divots, raking bunkers when you leave them, and taking care when removing balls from the hole so that the hole edge is not damaged.

Facility Developments

Those of you who have been at the club in the last couple of weeks will have seen that we have been able to start work on some long planned projects. 

We have been replacing the tabletops on the upstairs tables re-using the existing bases. These have been given a paint and freshen up by Urville with the help and support of Tom Chandler (thanks Tom). 

New chairs arrived today, and will replace the old ones that we will gradually swap over in the coming weeks. We did look at the option of getting the existing chairs re-covered and the broken backs fixed, however this was more expensive than replacements. 

Prep work also started on filling in the cracks on the building exterior to ensure it remains water tight. Until the scaffolding went up and we were able to get up close, we didn't realise how bad some of it was. We're confident that in taking this preventative action, it will help to reduce the need for more expensive repair work into the future. Please take care around the scaffolding and avoid using the back stairs to the deck, unless required in an emergency.

As always, there's more to do but we will keep on chipping away at things, based on finances and whether we can secure some additional grant funding.

The eagle eyed of you will see we have a number of new advertising partners on board sitting alongside our existing sponsors. The extra income that we generate through these relationships really does help us to make both course and facility improvements that benefit all of us. This is only possible if the relationships works both ways and our members consider using our advertising partners if they are looking for a tradesperson, product or service provider.

Please take the time to look at who supports the club and consider them as an option. Finally, please, please remember to mention that you are a club member so that they know that their advertising works.
