Northern Auckland Regional Meeting Wrap-Up
Prue and I attended the recent 9-Hole Ladies Regional Meeting and it was fantastic to see strong representation from North Harbour Golf. We spoke candidly (yes, I was surprisingly vocal!) about how 9-Hole ladies are often seen as the ‘little sister’ to the 18-holers—and how that needs to change.

We emphasised that 9-Hole golf is a big growth area in the sport, and as such, we need adequate funding, recognition, and support. We were heard, and I’m happy to say everyone in the room agreed. Watch this space.

DotGolf Developments

Heads up: DotGolf is on the improve! There are exciting developments in how we’ll manage competitions digitally. Word is that in five years, physical cards could be history—so now’s a good time to start getting familiar with digital scoring. Have a play with it soon and get comfy before it becomes the norm.

Pennants Results
The Pennant's results were read out at the meeting. Once they’re sent through, either Prue or I will share them with you. Even if you’re not in the team, it’s good to know how we peg against other clubs. Also, if you’d like to play next year, then speak to Prue now, and we can help that journey begin.

Mid-Winter Christmas – June 24
Mark your calendars! Our annual MidWinter Christmas event is happening Tuesday 24th June with a shotgun start at 8:30am.

We’ll be playing Stableford, and the winner on the day will be awarded the Nance Cochrane Trophy and Plate.

Traditionally, a match play trophy, this will now be awarded at our Mid-Winter event due to declining entries over the years. Instead of the cute trophy collecting dust I thought we’d give it a new lease on life and create a fun new tradition.

Men’s 9-holers are invited too, so we’ll have a great mix out there

Hamper time!
Please drop any hampers or donations to Marlies in the office. Got a connection through work? Consider donating a voucher, filling a hamper, or sponsoring one.

We’re after:

  • Golf gear
  • Chocolates & biscuits
  • Pamper products, creams & lotions
  • Food & drink (sealed please!)
  • Men’s bits & bobs for their own hamper

Every little bit helps. Money raised from the raffle = more mulled wine!

Speed of Play Reminder– The 5 C’s
Remember: we’re monitoring the speed of play. To help us keep things moving and track your rounds accurately, please follow this order when you finish:

  1. Card in
  2. Carpark
  3. Clubs in car
  4. Coffee
  5. Then Chat!

It might feel a little backward at first as I know you all like to have a coffee while you do your cards, but this adds to your ‘playing’ time.

Rule Reminder of the Week: Be Honest

Please record your actual score and every shot. I know it sounds obvious, but I was shocked to hear some Pennants players weren’t playing fair. Golf is about personal growth and integrity—so play it straight. You’re only cheating yourself otherwise.

A Big Thank You

Thank you all for your vote of confidence in electing me as Vice Captain and welcoming me onto the Committee. What does it mean for you? Well, that’s something I’ll be figuring out as we go—but here’s what I do know:

It means the 9-hole ladies have a voice at the table. We’re growing, we’re active, and we deserve to be heard.

I’m always just a phone call or email away. Got an idea or a brilliant suggestion (preferably positively framed)? Send it my way—I’m here for you.

See you out there!
