Hello,

Birthday Bash – Tuesday 19 August
Our annual Birthday Bash is nearly here, and it’s shaping up to be a fantastic day. We’ll be playing in Ambrose style with a shotgun start at 8.30am, so please be at the briefing by 8.00am sharp.

Entries will be opening shortly. We’ll also be celebrating a few significant birthday milestones at lunch afterwards, so come along ready for good golf, good company, and plenty of cheer.

Please drop any raffle items or hamper basket donations to Marlies in the office over the coming weeks. Every little bit adds to the fun.
Full details can be found on the poster displayed in the changing rooms when entries open.

Golf Rule Reminder – Pupuke Refresher Recap
This week's rule reminder is from the recent rules refresher course held at Pupuke Golf Club. What could have been a dry topic was brought to life with excellent video clips, engaging explanations, and great questions from everyone attending.

Attached is a summary of the 9-hole rules shared on the day. It's a helpful guide worth revisiting, no matter how long you’ve been playing.

Course and Committee News
From the committee side, there’s nothing major to report this month, but it’s worth noting the club’s Board is currently working on a five-year strategic plan. There are exciting times ahead, and it’s a great moment to be part of the club’s journey.

Also, it was pointed out that while it’s certainly been wet this winter (cough cough yesterday!), what’s notable is the volume of rain each time it comes. Thankfully, our new drainage system is doing an outstanding job, allowing more playing days even on a course that sits below the water table.

A Coffee Habit Worth Bringing Back
A thoughtful suggestion has been raised about bringing your own cup for coffee to reduce takeaway waste. Many of us got out of the habit during COVID, but it’s a small step we can all take to help the environment. I’ll be making a conscious effort to bring mine. I hope you’ll join me.

As a bonus, there's a small 20cent discount when you do!

See you out on the course soon,

Penny and Sheridan
