Mens Club Captain
As we head deeper into winter and the course begins to hold more moisture, I want to ask everyone to take a little extra care out there, both for the sake of your fellow members and for the health of the course.
Divots and pitch marks. A softer course means more damage from every shot. Please repair your divots with the sand mix provided, and fix your pitch marks on the greens, ideally your own and one extra if you spot one nearby. It takes five seconds and makes a real difference to the quality of the surface for everyone.
Keep things moving on the greens. Once you've holed out, please move off the green promptly. Filling in your scorecard or checking statistics while standing at the front of the green holds up play for the group behind. Head to the next tee, get sorted there, and remember: ready golf, if you're ready to play, go ahead.
Protect the worn areas. You'll notice some patches around the course showing the effects of winter traffic. Please be aware of these spots and take a few extra steps to steer around them rather than through them. Every little bit helps the turf recover.
Buggies near bunkers and greens. This is an important one, please stop pushing or driving buggies through the gap between bunkers and greens. Take the outside route around. The turf in these areas is under enough pressure as it is.
Thanks for your co-operation and let's look after our course so it keeps looking after us.
Thanks,
Carden Mulholland
