Last Saturday was the first round of the Sterling Cup and qualifying for the Pat O'Connor Cup. The second round for the Sterling Cup will be held on Saturday 13th August. As this is a 4BBB event you do not have to play with your partner on the day - the computer will match your scores. Current leaders on 49 points are Carden Mulholland and David Bowerman. The first round of the Pat O'Connor cup will also be played on Saturday 13th August. Some times have been reserved for this but please note it is the competitors responsibility to make sure your game is scheduled and completed by the due date.
This Saturday is round 7 for the Pengelly trophy - remember the best 6 of 9 net medal scores will determine the winner of this event. The current leader is Peter Seton with Guy Naden two shots back.
A couple of reminders - please repair pitch marks on the greens ( and one or two others while waiting for your partners to putt ). At this time of year the greens take a long time to repair themselves and they have a lot of repairing to do! Also please take a sand bucket and repair your divots, especially on the tee blocks as these are taking a hammering and with no winter growth are unable to recover. Please also remember that if you have entered the scramble ( or any club competition ) you are required to return a physical card. Digital scorecards are not acceptable.
Hopefully we have seen the worst of the winter rain and look forward to a drier course as we head to the end of winter - it is only two months until daylight saving kicks in again!
