Hi everyone,

We will be using the next two Saturday's to catch up on the Pengelly Trophy. This event is best 6 of 9 rounds of net medal play and is typically played on the first Saturday of the month. Due to the very wet winter causing course closures we have fallen behind and have only played six rounds so far this year. Using the next two Saturdays will allow us to catch up and then the final round will be played as scheduled, the following week on 2nd December. Accordingly the scramble for the next three weeks will be net medal and will be Achilles-Red tees only.

HAMPER DAY

Registrations are now open for Hamper Day which will be held on Sunday 10th December. The cost is $40pp and preferably payable at the time of entry. Entry is either in person in the pro shop or by email to golf@waitematagolf.co.nz. Hamper Day is a partners best ball event - you can either enter with a partner or as a single and Brad will match you up with a partner.

The day will start with hot bacon rolls from the bbq prior to a shotgun start at 9.00am. A light lunch will be served in the clubhouse prior to the prize giving and trophy presentations from the years events.

18H Women’s Strokeplay Championships 2023

These were played over four rounds, and concluded last Sunday when the Silver Division played 36 holes, and Bronze 1 played 27.  For the Silver division, the Championship was decided on the last hole with a one shot win to Rebecca Lewis, and Nami Fukui as runner up.

The Bronze 1 Championship was won by Colette Kraus, with Paula Brake as runner up.

The course was in great condition and this made for competitive golf, played in good spirit. Thanks to all who took part.

Rebecca will be representing Waitemata at the NH Champion of Champions at Whangaparaoa this weekend.  Another 36 hole marathon...we wish her well.

Advertising Partners Event

It was great to be able to invite our advertising partners to the club yesterday for 9 Holes of Ambrose Golf and some post round refreshments.

Congratulations to Lexus of North Shore and Lake Road Electrical who were winners on the day.

This event was an opportunity to thank all of our advertising partners for the support that they provide to the club. Please consider supporting these businesses if you feel you can use their services, and mention that you are a member of the club.
